Natural Humanists believe that, because every product and service that we consume during our lives uses natural resources and also requires human beings to give up their ‘natural’ lives to create or provide these products or services, we all have a strong moral duty to try to consume only what we need, and never to be wasteful or extravagant.
When they apply this to what they eat and drink, Natural Humanists believe their diet should meet all of their natural needs as efficiently as possible and, with this in mind, a vegan diet has been designed, which is available via the naturalhumanism.co.uk website, which is both 100% nutritionally-balanced and, naturally, contains over 100 different types and categories of ‘phytochemicals’. These are natural chemicals which exist in most fruit, vegetables, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds and grains, all of which are believed to potentially improve, or help to maintain our health, and even our longevity, but none of which are in meat, dairy products or any other foods of animal origin.
A book will soon be available, via the naturalhumanism.co.uk website, which details various versions of this ‘Natural Humanist Diet’, including meat versions for those who are new to Natural Humanism, and are trying to gradually reduce their meat consumption, but are not yet ready to go 100% vegan, and also to allow vegans and non-vegans in the same household to consume a similar diet and similar meals together. The book also contains numerous recipes for main meals, soups, snacks, cakes, biscuits and puddings which fit into this healthy ‘Natural Humanist Diet’.
As the main diet is 100% vegan, it helps to minimise impact on the planet and its living things, as vegan diets require less land and water to produce and involve no deliberate enslavement, abuse or murder of animals.
Natural Humanists will be able to suggest new recipes for the diet’s foods, or to gradually and continuously further improve the diet, all of which they will be welcome to share freely with the global Natural Humanist Community, and with all human beings worldwide, for the benefit of us all.
