Natural Humanists believe that no human being is superior to any other, and that all human beings are of equal value to all other species of living thing on Earth.
They believe that every human being should always be treated with kindness and respect, but that nobody should ever be treated as if they’re superior or inferior, including royalty, political or religious leaders and any other human being who considers themselves, or is considered by society, to be in any way superior, to be a ‘celebrity’, or to have somehow been ‘chosen’ to take precedence over them.
They’re opposed to any form of ‘hero-worship’, or any part of celebrity culture, which values and focuses on some people, but ignores, or values less, everybody else.
They believe that, although we each, on an individual basis, may personally value our own loved ones more than, say, an insect, that insect is, unquestionably, of equal value to the world, should be treated with the same respect, and should never be deliberately killed, harmed, degraded or abused, unless this is essential, for example, to exercise our own natural right to protect ourselves or our loved ones from harm, or our right to move freely and to live our lives in the way that nature ‘intended’.
They’re strongly against any parent treating any of their children as if they’re a ‘princess’ or ‘prince’, believing instead that every child should be raised to be a unique individual and should be valued as such, but should never be raised to believe they’re better than anybody else, or more deserving of love, kindness, affection, attention or respect.
Natural Humanists value people of every age, background, colour, culture, gender, personality, political persuasion, race, religion and sexuality; of every level of ability, intelligence, knowledge, talent and skill; and of every ‘nature’, such as feminine, masculine, or non-binary.
They don’t value people who are considered to be beautiful, or are popular, any more than anybody else, and they don’t value wealth or status at all, indeed they believe that, as much as possible, all human beings should only have a level of wealth and income which meets their essential needs, and that no level of unnecessary wealth is justifiable, when other human beings are in poverty.
They believe in valuing everything that makes each human being unique, but also everything that we all have in common. They try to treat all human beings with kindness, tolerance and respect, and to open their minds to the possibility of loving everybody they meet, as deeply as possible, without any limits.
